The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course



The MBSR Online Course is supported by extensive research and is the official online training program that teaches the method developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts.

The MBSR Online Course is presented by two teachers from the Center for Mindfulness: Dr Saki Santorelli and senior instructor Florence Meleo-Meyer. The course provides the opportunity to learn and apply an eight-week curriculum for utilizing your natural resources and abilities to better handle stress, pain, and illness.

Mindfulness extends beyond being a treatment for health issues. The increasing popularity of mindfulness is seen as a positive development, as it allows individuals to explore a more fulfilling and meaningful life. It can also serve as a strong basis for spiritual exploration.

Mindfulness is a practice that involves paying attention to the present moment in a non-judgment way, allowing you to relate directly to whatever is happening in your life.

More than 20,000 individuals who have completed the MBSR training program have discovered the benefits of using mindfulness techniques. These techniques can help you effectively manage emotional stress, chronic pain, and health conditions, while also enhancing your overall resilience, balance, and awareness.

We offer a comprehensive online training curriculum.

The course schedule includes eight weekly classes and one day-long class. It also provides 16 hours of downloadable video and audio instruction on mindfulness meditation, stretching, mindful yoga, and guidance for enhancing awareness in everyday life.

A Year of Mindfulness is a program or book about practicing mindfulness.

You will receive weekly emails with practice suggestions to assist you in living more mindfully throughout the year.

A Self-Guided Retreat—A Day of Mindfulness is available.

The purpose of this six-hour-plus session is to help you establish and effectively use MBSR skills in various situations in your life, while also preparing you to continue using these methods after the program.

About Instructors

DR. SAKI SANTORELLI

Saki F Santorelli, EdD, MA, served as the director of the Stress Reduction Clinic and executive director of the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Memorial Medical Center. He wrote Heal Thy Self: Lessons on Mindfulness in Medicine.

FLORENCE MELEO-MEYER

Florence Meleo-Meyer, MS, MA, is a senior MBSR teacher and was previously a member of the executive leadership team for the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Memorial Medical Center. She is involved in the creation and presentation of the video program Living Awake: Mindfulness Practices for Young Adults.
