Alton Hardin is the founder and lead instructor at Alton Teaches LLC and MicroGrinder Poker School. He is also a best-selling author and a former college professor. He has earned two graduate degrees, specifically a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Information Assurance and Security Management, and a Master's of Science (MS) in Information Technology Network Management. He holds multiple IT industry certifications, such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP #740196), ITIL, Security+, Network+, Project+, eLearnSecurity Junior Penetration Tester (eJPT), and various others.

Alton has been employed in information technology since 1999. He worked as a Cybersecurity specialist at the United States Department of Treasury for the past 12 years before switching to full-time IT teaching. Alton has a passion for teaching. During his time as a student, he provided tutoring for chemistry students and also taught a GMAT prep course. After completing his MBA program, he started teaching as an adjunct professor in Information Systems and IT management for the School of Business & Public Administration at a local state university.
