His Holiness the Dalai Lama

The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people and Tibetan Buddhism. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and the US Congressional Gold Medal in 2007. He was born in a small village in northeastern Tibet in 1935 and was recognized at the age of two as the reincarnation of his predecessor, the 13th Dalai Lama. He has been an advocate for a secular universal approach to cultivating fundamental human values.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Desmond Mpilo Tutu, the archbishop emeritus of South Africa, died on December 26, 2021, at the age of 90. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984 and the US Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009. In 1995, Tutu was appointed as the chair of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission by Nelson Mandela. He introduced a fresh approach for nations to progress following civil conflict and oppression. Archbishop Tutu is considered a prominent moral figure and a symbol of hope.

Douglas Abrams

Doug Abrams is a successful author, editor, literary agent, and film producer. He is the founder and president of Idea Architects, a book and media agency that assists visionaries in creating a more wise, healthy, and just world. He has collaborated on The Book of Joy with the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, as well as with other Nobel Laureates, including Nelson Mandela.

Thupten Jinpa, PhD

Thupten Jinpa, PhD, is the founder and chairman of Compassion Institute and the principal author of Compassion Cultivation Training™ (CCT©), which was developed at Stanford University. Jinpa received training as a monk at the Shartse College of Ganden Monastic University in South India, and he attained the Geshe Lharam degree. Since 1985, he has served as the principal English translator for His Holiness the Dalai Lama and has worked on many books in collaboration with the Dalai Lama.

The Rev. Canon Mpho Tutu van Furth

Reverend Mpho Andrea Tutu van Furth is a South African Anglican priest, author, public speaker, and activist. She held the position of founding director at the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation and served as executive director from 2011 to 2016. She has written several books, including The Book of Forgiving: The Fourfold Path for Healing Ourselves and Our World and Tutu: The Authorised Portrait.
